Who Is Satya Mohan Joshi?
Satya Mohan Joshi was a writer and scholar from Nepal. Satya Mohan Joshi is famous for his research on the history and culture of Nepal. He was serving as the chancellor of the Nepal Bhasa Academy. Satya has above 60 publications in different subjects, which include Nepali Rashtriya Mudra (Madan Puraskar of 1960); Hamro Lok Sanskriti (Madan Puraskar in 1956); Karnali Lok Sanskriti (a research collection); Charumati, Sunkeshari, Majipha Lakhe, Bagh Bhairab (dramas).

Araniko was a sculptor of the Malla dynasty who went to China in 1260 AD. He established the Araniko White Dagoba Gallery in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, using historical artefacts which are related to Araniko.

After his death, Joshi’s astrological birth chart was cremated, in place of his body, at Shankhamul Ghat, by his sons. His ashes were then put on the Bagmati river, as per Hindu customs.
Satya Mohan Joshi Death
Joshi died on 16th October 2022 at KIST Hospital in Lalitpur. He was 102 years old when he died. As per his wishes, his body was donated to a hospital for research. Nepal’s then Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and the Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Chiri Babu Maharjan, paid their tribute to Satya. Some of the politicians also paid tribute to Satya. The funeral of Joshi was accompanied by state honours.
