Ramesh Ponnuru an American conservative thinker, and journalist, is the editor of National Review magazine, a columnist for Bloomberg View, and a contributing editor to the domestic policy journal National Affairs. Known for writing about an array of political views, he recently came into the spotlight when a discussion on the microblogging platform Twitter caught the attention of many. The Tweets of this discussion thread had a few claims that made many raise the query is Ramesh Ponnuru arrested.

“A convicted felon like Ponnuru doesn’t have the right to lecture Fetterman, or anyone else for that mater, on the morality of any issue. Ponnuru has never apologized for his crime. He still thinks his conviction was “unfair” because others did the same crime but were not caught.”

In fact, Ramesh Ponnuru himself replied to this Tweet stating “I have never apologized for my crime and I never will.” For which the user who made the tweet that made is Ramesh Ponnuru arrested trending had apologised. 

“Sincere apologies. 

My apology is twofold. One is for my obvious error in identifying you as the convicted felon. The other is for confusing you with the other “conservative” writer who is actually a conspiracy theorist, which you are certainly not.”

From what can be gathered from the thread of Tweet the Twitter user had implied another conservative writer who according to but had made an obvious error. Despite the apology being accepted by Ramesh Ponnuru himself, many took offence at this statement. Many had even extended their support and love towards Ramesh Ponnuru, one of the users even stated “You are not a criminal to me.  And, I don’t think anyone else thinks you are.”
