Who Is TobiWan?
Toby Dawson, more commonly known amongst eSports fans as TobiWan is a former Dota 2 commentator. TobiWan has been there in the esports scene for more than a decade, in fact, he was considered ‘the voice of Dota 2’. But his absence from the eSports scene made many wonder, what happened to TobiWan Dota and where is TobiWan now. TobiWan quit eSports after allegations of sexual assault against him came out. What Happened To TobiWan Dota?
TobiWan quit eSports and working for JoinDota STudio once the sexual assault allegations started coming out. In fact, HITC reported that what started as one person posting on social media claiming ToniWan harassed them ended up with much backing. Meruna was the first cosplayer who allegedly claimed that TobiWan sexually harassed her. Her post on TwitLonger was a lengthy one wherein she goes to talk about how “TobiWan did not take No for an answer”.
This became the catalyst that prompted others to come out as well. And once these allegations started coming into the public what happened to TobiWan Dota became one of the most sought questions on the internet. HITC also reported that YouTuber Ashnichrist came out backing Meruna claiming “Proof of inappropriate sexual advances from Toby. Meruna is no way an isolated case. Believe her.”
Where Is TobiWan Now?
These allegations and TobiWan’s Sexual Assault Charges happened in 2020 June. Following this, TobiWan on Twitter stated announced his departure from eSports “As of this post, I will cease to have any public image in eSports…”
In the same post he also expressed his feeling and take on these allegations “It has been horrifying, watching my personal history being stripped of all context, warped with fiction then presented to the internet as a fact. Those who made serious allegations against me should follow the proper process through the law, and not rely on innuendo or evidence void of scrutiny and both perspectives.”
It has been 2 years since this happened, and currently what the world wants to know is where is TobiWan now. Considering what happened to TobiWan Dota it is only obvious that many are curious about what happened to TobiWan after all this and where TobiWan is now. But in the message where he announced his decision to quit eSports, he also stated, “I will never commentate again, and my focus will turn fully to my family and finding a way to move on with life.”
TobiWan Sexual Assault Charges
Soon after what happened to TobiWan Dota Code Red Esports announced that they severed ties with Toby and will no longer represent the sports commentator. Further many Dota 2 stars have also said that they will no longer work with him.
