Who Is James Gordon Meek?
James Gordon, known for his reporting about the US military, terrorism, and covert operations, has gone missing since the FBI reportedly took classified information from his laptop during a raid on his Virginia house, according to published reports, says nypost.
James is a 52-year-old investigative reporter. He is also a producer of the documentary “3212 Un-redacted.” James has not been seen in public since federal agents raided his apartment in Arlington in April, according to Rolling Stone.

The Rolling Stone cited “sources familiar with the matter” as saying that federal agents discovered classified information on James’s laptop. Eugene Gorokhov, James’s attorney, told Rolling Stone: “Mr Meek is unaware of what allegations anonymous sources are making about his possession of classified documents.”
“If such documents exist, as claimed, this would be within the scope of his long career as an investigative journalist covering government wrongdoing.”

It is not clear which news story stirred the federal government to set its sights on ABC News Producer James. His attorney told Rolling Stone, “The allegations in your inquiry are troubling for a different reason: They appear to come from a source inside the government. It is highly inappropriate, and illegal, for individuals in the government to leak information about an ongoing investigation.”
“We hope that the DOJ [Department of Justice] promptly investigates the source of this leak.”
Where Is James Gordon Meek Now?
James’s whereabouts are not known. He covered national security for the New York Daily News before working for ABC News.
James’s neighbors said that they had not seen or heard from him since watching the raid. His apartment appears empty.
The report concluded that it was unclear what story, if any, would have put Meek in the FBI’s crosshairs but noted he often worked on quite sensitive topics involving terrorists.
