American television soap opera The Young and the Restless, sometimes known as Y&R, was developed by William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell for CBS. The television programme takes place in a fictitious version of Genoa City, Wisconsin. The Young and the Restless was first shown as half-hour programmes five times per week on March 26, 1973. On February 4, 1980, the show switched to one-hour episodes. The show started broadcasting prior episodes weeknights on SOAPnet in 2006, and did so until 2013, when it switched to TVGN (now Pop). On weeknights as of July 1, 2013, Pop continues to broadcast earlier episodes.
