Brain Teaser Of The Week: How to solve the 2×2 Rubiks Cube? Simple Method

How to solve the 2×2 Rubik’s Cube?

Brain teasers are an exciting puzzle that needs thinking to solve. Brain teasers make you think out of the box and exploit your mind’s potential. One of the most recent brain teasers trending on social media and boggling many minds is  How to solve the 2×2 Rubik’s Cube?’.

How to solve the 2×2 Rubik’s Cube – Solution

If you are still trying to get the answer to this, we have a hint for you, there are a few different solutions and all you need to know is basic maths to get the equations right. Let us now see the solutions and its explanation.

Solution

There are 6 faces on a 2×2 Rubik’s Cube. Each face is represented by letters.

A letter represents a face turned 90°. Rotate the corresponding letter 90° clockwise one face. For example, (R) means rotate the right face 90° clockwise once.

  • R = Right

  • L = Left

  • U = Up

  • D = Down

  • F = Front

  • B = Back

  • A letter with an apostrophe is rotated 90° counterclockwise. Rotate a face by the corresponding letter 90° counterclockwise. For example, (D’) means rotate the lower face 90° counter-clockwise.

  • R’

  • L’

  • U’

  • D’

  • F’

  • B’

  • By doing this the white will come on top.

    Next, do the equation R,D,R,L’,D’,L,R’,D,R

By doing this you will get two colors on corner.

    Next do the equation R,U,R’,U,R,U2,R’

You will get one colour twice on a face and the white will be the same as before

Continue the previous equation R,U,R’,U,R,U2,R’ till you get another color on a face other than white.

Now you got 2 matching side. Make the matching side face each other and do the equation

    Next use the equation R’,F,R’,B’2,R,F’,R,B’2,R’2,B’2

Repeat the step until you get to solve the Rubik’s cube.

A letter with a ‘2’ next to it is a 180° rotation, which is two 90° rotations. Rotate a face by 180° with the corresponding letter. For example, (L2) means making two 90° rotations with the left face equal to 180° rotation.

    Firstly, do the equation R’,D,R,D
