What Happened To Darius Garland?
Darius Garland, an American professional Basketball player, returned to action after suffering a severe eye injury. He went through full-contact practice on Tuesday and saw the floor as early as Wednesday night when the Cavs welcomed the Boston Celtics to Rocket FieldHouse. Without Garland, the Cavs, second in the Eastern Conference with a 5-1 record as of Tuesday night, have won all five games.
His coach Bicxkerstaff said in a postgame press conference on October 17, “His head and everything was clear, but he was cut and bleeding pretty bad from the inside of his eyelid.” Garland was also examined the following day, On October 20, at the Cole Eye Institute at Cleveland Clinic. They revealed no structural damage, and Garland’s eye surgery was not required.
The team had appropriate eye protection for Garland, but He wore them to practice last week but was not wearing them as he went through a post-practice workout on Tuesday.
Garland went through an entire practice session on Tuesday and put in some extra work following practice with the coaching staff. After his practice session, his coach Bickerstaff said, “We’ll see tomorrow,” Bickerstaff said of Garland on Tuesday. “But he went through everything. Again, it’s how he’s feeling tomorrow, what the swelling looks like. But he was good today.”
It was clear that Garland was officially listed on the 5:30 p.m E.T. injury report as questionable, which is the first upgrade in his status since injuring his eye.
