Kastov 762 

• The Kastov-762 is fantastic. Given how competitive the TTK is at most ranges, this weapon is faster, stronger and more controllable than it has any right to be. Moreover, the AK platform is massive, so once you’ve completed the ARs, SMGs, and RPKs, you’ll have access to some excellent attachments to combine with a weapon that already feels like it is the best AR with its base version.

STB – 556 

• The STB-556, also known as the AUG, is a very comfortable weapon. It has low-recoil, quick handling, and decent attachments. So, why not aim higher? Because the TTK is lower than other options, you can easily be outgunned even if you’re hitting all of your shots.

M4

• The M4 weapon is once again the first assault rifle unlocked from the start, and every player can use it to begin their first matches. It is one of the most well-balanced assault rifles in MW2. The rate of fire is reasonable, the recoil is very low, and the TTK is also adequate. The M4 weapon is also more customizable than any other assault rifle, thanks to an incredible array of attachments. So, if you’re looking for a good weapon assault rifle that’s simple to use and reliable at almost all ranges, the M4 is ideal. It’s just less powerful than the weapons further up the list appear to be.

TAQ – 56

• The TAQ-56 is the SCAR, and it’s back to being awesome. It deals a lot of damage and has a slightly slower rate of fire and recoil. Nonetheless, it has an extremely fast TTK and can shred anything once you get used to it. This could be the best AR, but it is just slightly beaten by number one.

Lachmann – 556 

• The Lachmann-556 is a standard assault rifle. It performs well at medium to long ranges and has little recoil. However, because it’s so slow, it’s noticeably less potent than everything higher on the list in core multiplayer.

Kastov -74u

• This Kastov is the AK-74u, which has always been classified as an SMG in previous titles. And because you play it like an SMG, comparing it to everything else on this list is difficult. But we’re confident it deserves a high rating because it’s a great weapon. It’s the ideal flex weapon; it has a great mobility and handling of an SMG while also being able to use all of the AR attachments.

M16 

• The M16 weapon is the only assault rifle in Modern Warfare 2 that does not have a fully automatic fire mode, making it, in our opinion, the worst assault rifle. The M16 can only be used in burst or single-shot mode, which limits its versatility. Burst mode is highly imprecise, and even at close range, you need at least two bursts to kill. The M16 felt best in single-shot mode, but if you’re already using a semi-automatic weapon, a DMR or battle rifle is superior.

Kastov -545 

• This weapon was surprisingly destructive when we were trying to level everything up. The 545’s problem is that it’s simply a much worse version of the Kastov-762. The 545 version is less damaging and has a lower TTK, but there is nothing to compensate.

After a pre-launch update caused significant problems for those who had already downloaded the 2022 installment, Modern Warfare 2 players have been experiencing a “locked game” bug. Although Modern Warfare 2 officially launches on October 28, millions of players have downloaded the game to prepare for it or participate in the early access campaign.
