“It was 21 days before we knew she was going to survive, and we didn’t know what the degree of her brain injury would be until she woke up,” recalls Desiree’s mother of how difficult those first few weeks were.

Desiree and her mother are appreciative of the care and assistance they received from LHSC despite the fact that Desiree’s road to recovery will be difficult and protracted. When asked about Desiree’s experience at CCTC, her mother remarked, “It is difficult to do, but I trusted my child’s life with them. We are fortunate that Desiree is receiving care at such a top-notch hospital. I love where we live.
