According to a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrest report, the suspect who is accused of stabbing eight people on the Las Vegas Strip on Thursday, killing two of them, approached a group of showgirl impersonators, pretended to be a chef, and requested that they take a picture with him holding a knife.

The report stated that Yoni Barrios had traveled from California to Las Vegas around two days earlier with the goal of relocating with a friend. According to the report, the friend apparently informed him he could not remain at the residence when he arrived in Las Vegas.

The report claims that Barrios prepared his bags and took a bus to the Las Vegas Strip, where he arrived at 8 a.m. on Thursday. Barrios reportedly told officials that he “wasn’t treated like a human being” during the bus ride to the Strip because other passengers were making fun of him.

According to the complaint, Barrios first walked to the mall and sought “chauffeurs” for a trip to California before asking a janitor about job prospects at the Wynn. According to the investigation, Barrios requested that the janitor make contact with ICE on his behalf so that he may go back to Guatemala.
