National Television Awards 2022
This year has been a fantastic year for television, and the NTAs recognised that in a lavish ceremony at London’s OVO Arena, Wembley, which was broadcast live on ITV beginning at 8 p.m. It was up to you earlier this year to decide which shows you wanted to watch in 2021. It was no easy task with such a plethora of goodies to choose from. Throughout the night, there were numerous surprises. In its 50th year, Emmerdale was voted best Serial Drama by the general public. Other winners included Strictly Come Dancing’s Cillian Murphy for Drama Performance, Peaky Blinders’ Cillian Murphy for Drama Performance, and Kate Garraway for her documentary, Caring for Derek.

Alison Hamond found herself in the impossible position of competing for best presenter against Ant and Dec. She didn’t seem to let it ruin her evening, as she was up on stage with her This Morning colleagues after their win.
