The Thumbs up emoji was commonly used casually and professionally. Gen Z called out the thumbs-up emoji “rude” and wants to ban 9 other emojis. They say sending a thumbs-up emoji can be confrontational and rude. It is also said to be hurtful and not to use it ever again. Gen Zers are in an attempt to cancel the emoticon, saying they feel attacked whenever somebody sends them casually or in a workplace. A 24-year-old Reddit user had tweeted that the thumbs-up emoji was considered offensive and that t should be stopped used and banned. The thumbs-up emoji has been used over generations to convey signals like ‘I Approve’ or ‘ I Agree.  Many Gen Z users say that the thumbs-up emoji is only used for boomers like parents and old people.

The Thumbs Up emoji was considered cool until GenZ wanted to ban the emoticon. It is said that the emoji was considered rude or sarcastic in the workplace or among friends by GenZ. 

They want to ban emojis and encourage people not to use them anymore. If GenZ considers the thumbs-up emoji for the boomers, what does GenZ prefer using? Well, they like using small smiley faces for whatsoever reason and are considered cringe. A joker emoji can be seen commonly used while debating with one another. Initially, the thumbs-up emoji was a way of saying yes or showing quick appreciation. However, it is not the same anymore. GenZ people have considered it to be passive-aggressive and vague. They also mentioned that the thumbs-up emoticon is for boomers like parents and 0ldies. Some people still completely unaware of the emoji’s meaning and that it has been changed. Although, some agree with the younger generation that this emoji does seem a little rude. At the end of the day, it is just some emoji and lets people use it however they can. Making a big fuss of an emoji is not what we need now.
