Miss Columbia Ariadna Gutierrez was wrongly announced as Miss Universe on stage by the host of the competition Steve Harvey.
As soon as Steve Harvey announced that Ariadna Gutierrez was the winner of the competition, she was given the crown. But shortly after wrongly announcing the winner, Steve realized that he had made a mistake, and he went back on stage and dethroned her, which was kind of disheartening to watch. Sadly, the $400,000 crown featuring 10 carats of diamonds was taken from her head and given to Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
