On the set of Being Mortal, comedian Aziz Ansari’s film version of Atul Gawande’s book of the same name, new information has come to light regarding Bill Murray’s allegedly inappropriate behaviour. According to a report from Puck, on the set, Murray kissed and straddled a younger female production assistant. Although the identity of the woman was suppressed, the story made note that it wasn’t her co-star Keke Palmer, as had been believed. Puck was told by numerous people that it happened next to a bed that was used in the play. Murray allegedly kissed the employee on the mouth as well, despite the fact that they were both wearing masks in accordance with COVID-19 rules since he thought she had been flirting with him. The woman reportedly complained after the incident, calling it “horrifying.” According to Puck, a second employee who saw the incident also reported it.

The actor allegedly decided to make things right after explaining the event on a breakdown in communication. After lengthy negotiations, the two are said to have reached a deal, with Murray paying the employee “just north of $100,000,” according to Puck. A non-disclosure agreement and a waiver of legal rights against the creators, Searchlight, and parent company Disney are also said to have been signed by the woman.

In April, Murray addressed the claims for the first time, although he did not go into specifics about the complaint. Murray told CNBC, “I did something I thought was hilarious, and it wasn’t viewed that way. “However, as of right now, we’re conversing and attempting to mend our differences. We both work in our fields. We appreciate one another’s work. There is no purpose in continuing to work together or producing a movie if you can’t actually get along and trust one other.”
