Brandi was given a sentence of one hundred and twenty years in jail for the murder of her two children. For the murder of her son Tyler, she received a sentence of 55 years in jail, and for the murder of her daughter Charlee, she received a sentence of 65 years in prison.
During this time, Brandi’s ex-husband Jason Worley maintains his career as a software engineer while living a reclusive existence in Indiana. He has sworn that he will never speak to or see his ex-wife ever again.
In addition, there have been no rumours of Jason getting remarried after his first marriage ended in divorce. It appears that he is still grieving the loss of his children and is filled with regret that he could not have saved them.

What caused Brandi Worley to end her marriage to Jason Worley?
In point of fact, it was Jason Worley who submitted the initial petition for divorce rather than Brandi Worley.
Since Jason discovered that his wife had been having an affair with a neighbour, the future of the couple’s relationship has been in jeopardy. He had every intention of leaving her right away, but he was compelled to reconcile with her after Brandi threatened to use the fact that he had attempted suicide when he was in high school as evidence that he is unable to be a parent.

On November 15, 2016, Jason called an attorney and filed for divorce, alleging that Brandi had been unfaithful to him during their marriage. The terrible acts of murder that Brandi performed against her children occurred the following day.
As her murder weapon, Brandi employed a Kabar combat knife that she had purchased from a Walmart. On the evening of the murders, she pleaded with Jason to sleep with her on the couch, but he declined and instead went to sleep in the basement. Then, under the guise of a sleepover, Brandi brought her son Tyler, who was 7 years old at the time, into Charlee’s room.
At that location, she began by killing Tyler by repeatedly stabbing him in the neck. Charlee was startled awake by the sound of the stabbing, but Brandi admonished her to go back to sleep. When Worley had finished with Tyler, she turned her attention to her own daughter and used the same method to end her own life by stabbing herself in the neck.
Before Brandi committed the killings, she had summoned her mother to come to the house, but she hadn’t revealed anything about her intentions to kill anyone. The horrified shrieks that Brandi’s mother let out when she discovered the bodies of her deceased grandkids ultimately roused Jason from his sleep.
The only reason Brandi committed these heinous acts was to prevent her husband from gaining custody of their children and taking them away from her. She initially entered a plea of not guilty to the charge, but she later modified it to a plea of guilty.
Regarding Jason, he continues to feel guilty about the choice he made to spend the night of the homicide in the basement. He believes that he would have been able to save his children or at the very least perish beside them if he had slept on the couch.
Background
The fatalities were identified as Charlee Rose Jean Worley and Tyler Daniel Clinton Worley, both of whom were born in 2009. (born 2013). Sugar Creek Elementary School is located in unincorporated Montgomery County, Indiana, and Tyler attended there when he was in the first grade. Charlee attended the Willson Early Learning Center, which is located in Crawfordsville, Indiana, for her preschool education. He was seven years old, and she was only three when they were born.
Brandi tied the knot with Jason Worley, a software developer, in August 2009, exactly two years after the couple became engaged.

Murders of Tyler and Charlee Worley
Brandi Worley went to the Walmart in Crawfordsville, Indiana, under the pretence that she needed to purchase pipe cleaners for a school project that her son, Tyler, was working on. The dance performance had just concluded for their daughter, Charlee, and Brandi had just returned from attending it. The Kabar combat knife that was used in the homicide was purchased by Brandi Worley on November 16 at a Walmart, according to a prosecutor working for the Montgomery County government named Joseph Buser. When she arrived home, the first thing she did was put the knife in Tyler’s room. She offered Jason the opportunity to sleep on the couch, but he declined, stating that he would rather sleep in the basement than on their bed or the couch.
Brandi enticed Tyler to Charlee’s bedroom by saying there would be a sleepover there while Jason was sleeping in the basement of their house. Jason was asleep in the basement. She inflicted deadly wounds on the children by stabbing them in the neck, and then she stabbed herself in the neck. Brandi murdered her son before murdering her daughter. After waking up and hearing what seemed like multiple stabs being delivered to her brother, the daughter demanded to know, “What are you doing?” Brandi instructed her to “go back to sleep” in response to her question. After that, she stabbed her daughter multiple times. At long last, Brandi placed a call to 9-1-1 to report the slayings. She reported that she had “a lot of Benadryl” in her system. She informed the 911 dispatcher that she had previously spoken to her mother and that her mother was currently en route to the scene of the incident. Her mother was not yet aware of the recent occurrences that had taken place in the family.
In the beginning, the 9-1-1 dispatcher either hoped or believed that the call was not genuine, so she contacted Brandi Worley’s mother, who was the victims’ grandma, and asked her to check on how the children were doing. Jason was startled awake by his mother-in-screaming law’s when she discovered that her grandchildren had been murdered. Brandi informed Jason that at this point, he was no longer able to take the children away from her. The police arrived at approximately 03:30.
The Terre Haute Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana served as the location for the autopsies that were performed.
Aftermath
In order to receive treatment for the wounds she had inflicted upon herself, Brandi Worley was initially admitted to the Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
On November 22, 2016, the funeral service for the victims was held in the Darlington Community Center, and they were interred at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington after the service. On November 18, 2016, there was a vigil held at Congregational Christian Church, which is located in Darlington as well.
After receiving a message from the father of one of the victims on Reddit, YouTuber Philip DeFranco offered his assistance to Jason Worley. DeFranco requested that his audience make donations to a GoFundMe account in order to help cover Jason Worley’s immediate living expenses as well as the funeral costs for the children.
The divorce that had been initiated by Jason Worley was finalised in March of 2017.
