In a surprisingly short period, Cam Akers has gone from being the Rams’ top running back to one they are aggressively trying to trade away. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Akers is anticipated to rejoin the team if he is not transferred by Tuesday’s deadline. Due to alleged philosophical and football-related conflicts between the 23-year-old and head coach Sean McVay, he was sidelined in Week 6.
