Eskom Officials Arrested
At two power stations in Mpumalanga, four Eskom personnel were detained after two theft incidents involving Eskom employees were probed by the Hawks (DPCI) and Eskom Group Security.

Former Eskom Boss Matshela Koko, Wife And Stepdaughter Arrested
The Investigating Directorate of the NPA detained former Eskom temporary CEO Matshela Koko, his wife Mosima, and his stepdaughter Koketso Choma on suspicions of corruption. Costs stem from a sizable agreement that Swiss engineering company Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) and Eskom inked in 2015 to build a power plant in South Africa.
Choma owned equity in Impulse International, a nearby company that ABB used for subcontracting. Her profit from the deal was R30 million, some of which was given to Mosima Koko. Koko was at the time a top executive at Eskom. Koko played a significant role in the Gupta family’s attempt to acquire Eskom.
