Date Of Release And Plot Synopsis For “House Of The Dragon”
On August 21, 2022, House of the Dragon will premiere on HBO in the US. On August 22, Sky and NOW will air it in the UK.
The Game of Thrones prequel, which is based on George R.R. Martin’s 2018 book Fire & Blood, depicts the tale of the Targaryen Civil War, often known as the Dance of Dragons, which was largely inspired by the actual War of the Roses.
King Viserys I is seated on the Iron Throne at the start of House of the Dragon when the Targaryen dynasty was at its most powerful.
When Viserys’ wife passes away, he defies convention and controversially appoints his daughter Princess Rhaenyra as his heir, which causes friction between the Targaryen dynasty and the other houses of Westeros.
Rhaenyra anticipates becoming the first queen regnant of the Seven Kingdoms as Viserys’ firstborn child, but Viserys’ brother Prince Daemon Targaryen, a famous warrior, also has his sights set on the Iron Throne.
How Many Episodes Are In House Of The Dragon?
The first season of House of the Dragon will include a total of 10 episodes.
This is the same number of episodes we saw in Game of Thrones’ early seasons until the final two seasons gave us, respectively, seven and six episodes, as longtime fans of the show will note.
On August 21, House of the Dragon will premiere on HBO and HBO Max in the US, with new chapters airing every week after that.
This means that although viewers in the US will be able to watch the season 1 finale on October 23, viewers in the UK will be able to do so on October 24.
Season 2 Appears To Be In Progress
The second season of House of the Dragon is reportedly already in the works, in addition to the first one.
Redanian Intelligence claims that by May 2022, scripting for season 2 had already begun, indicating that HBO has approved a second season even though the network had yet to make an official announcement.
Later, in June 2022, the website announced that House of the Dragon season 2 filming will start in the latter half of 2022.
