I-75 Ocala Accident Today
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, three people were killed, and two were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash that shut down the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 in Marion County. As of 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday, the northbound lanes were closed near mile marker 337, according to troopers. Troopers reported that all southbound lanes and one northbound lane had reopened by 5:15 p.m. According to the release, a sedan and a tractor-trailer pulling a dump trailer were traveling south on Interstate 75 when they collided at about 1:10 p.m.Following the collision, the two vehicles drove through the center median guard rail and into the northbound lanes, according to the report.

On Wednesday afternoon, a fatal multiple-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 near Ocala shut down all lanes. Just after 1 p.m., the crash occurred on northbound I-75 near mile marker 337 in Maron County. According to the FHP, motorists traveling north should exit the interstate at mile markers 321 or 329, both of which are in Sumter County. Around 2:30 p.m., one southbound lane of I-75 reopened, but it was unclear when the remaining lanes would reopen.

The Florida Highway Patrol has released additional information about the fatal I-75 crash near Ocala that killed three people. A 2017 Subaru and a tractor-trailer pulling a dump trailer were traveling south on I-75 when they collided at some point. Following the initial collision, both vehicles drove through the center median guardrail into the northbound lanes, colliding with a 2021 Ram 3500 truck towing a gooseneck trailer and a 2022 Chevrolet SUV.
