Who Is John Wayne Gacy?
John Wayne Gacy was born on March 17, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, U.S. John Gacy was a serial killer and sex offender from the United States who raped, tortured, and killed at least 33 young men and boys. As “Pogo the Clown” or “Patches the Clown,” characters John created, Gacy frequently performed at children’s hospitals and philanthropic gatherings. Before his crimes were discovered, John performed for the public and earned the moniker “Killer Clown.” All of Gacy’s killings were carried out within his ranch-style home close to Norridge, a community in Norwood Park Township, a Chicago suburb. He would usually entice a victim to his house and deceive him into donning shackles on the pretence of showing him a magic act.
Then, after torturing and raping his victim, he would asphyxiate or strangle him with a garrote to death. On May 10, 1994, John Wayne Gacy passed away in Crest Hill, Illinois’ Stateville Correctional Center.

Police found McCoy’s body, along with 32 others, buried in the residence of Chicago-based serial killer John Wayne Gacy in December 1978. McCoy was Gacy’s initial casualty. However, it wasn’t until May 1986 that his remains were positively identified, allowing officials to alert his family.

How Many People Did John Wayne Gacy Kill?
According to reports, Gacy slaughtered at least 33 men and boys. In addition to numerous other victims buried elsewhere on his property, 26 of his victims were discovered buried in the crawlspace under his home. A couple more were found close to the Des Plaines River.
