Onlyfans Creator Arrested

A Singapore court sentenced an OnlyFans developer to three weeks in prison on Tuesday for violating a police order to remain away from the adult membership site while under investigation for allegedly violating obscenity laws. According to court documents, Titus Low, 22, pled guilty to the allegation and another count of conveying obscene content and was fined 3,000 Singapore dollars (about $2,000). His lawyer told CNN that he would begin his prison sentence on October 26. The sale and production of pornographic goods are prohibited in Singapore, but that hasn’t stopped OnlyFans from establishing a fan base in the conservative city-state, where watching porn is lawful. Still, online sites are blocked by state censors.

Why Was Titus Low Arrested?

Low is the first OnlyFans creator to face criminal charges in Singapore. He joined the site known for its NSFW content in April 2021 and had over 3,000 paid members to his channel at one point, essentially guys. His bisexuality has challenged taboos in the country, which declared in August that it would overturn colonial-era legislation that criminalized homosexual relations. Low was arrested in December of last year after a man claimed three months earlier that he saw an explicit film of the OnlyFans star on the phone of his 12-year-old niece. Low was eventually granted bail because he did not use his OnlyFans account.

The bisexual adult content developer has now been released on bail, but if convicted of all five charges, he faces up to 21 months in prison. He is also barred from using his OnlyFans account. His arrest reignited debate about conservatism in a society noted for its modesty. “Perhaps if I’d hurt someone, I’d deserve to go to prison,” he once said. This is not Low’s first time going viral. Multiple complaints of the Singaporean OnlyFans streamer releasing nude photographs and videos notified the police in December 2021. Low was subsequently arrested for breaking Singapore’s Penal Code, which makes it illegal to communicate obscene information via electronic means and participate in or benefit from it. In February of this year, two further counts of posting similar content were added.
