As NewsChannel 13 has been reporting, the Shaker High teacher has been missing since this past Saturday.
Police tell NewsChannel 13s they’re utilizing all of their resources. They are coordinating a massive search effort that involves more than half a dozen police, fire or search and rescue agencies.
Somewhere in the thickly-wooded forest, they are determined to find out what happened to her.
Police are calling this a fluid operation and an open investigation. The hiking trails in Longcope Park on the outskirts of Lee, Massachusetts are woven in between tall, thick trees that are scattered on 46 acres.
Police say the steep terrain in some parts of the park is extremely difficult, and it’s hampering the search effort.
Is She Found?
Marohn lives in Delmar, and she was reported missing to Bethlehem police by relatives on Tuesday.
In the meantime, Marohn’s dark-colored Subaru was discovered near a trailhead by a nearby resident on Church Road in Lee and reported to police in Berkshire County. They believe it had been parked there since Sunday.
Marohn is 5 ft. 7 in. and 130 pounds, with auburn hair and green eyes.
Even though search efforts have come up empty so far, the Lee police chief says they’re making progress.
Authorities know Marohn checked into a local hotel over the weekend. They say hiking excursions – like the one they believe she was on – are typical for her.
Even though they’ve been offered a lot of help from volunteers to help search for her, police say they’re not looking for any assistance right now.
