The Witcher Season 3 Release Date
While fans hoped the new season of The Witcher would drop sometime this fall or at least by December (a year after Season 2 came out), they’ll have to wait a little bit longer. At a Netflix global fan event in late September, Henry Cavill announced that Season 3 will premiere in the summer of 2023. Like other recent shows, including Dead to Me Season 3, The Witcher has hit a few production difficulties over the past year. First, production was stopped last July after a COVID outbreak on set, and then Henry Cavill was injured while acting in an action sequence.

Is The Witcher Season 3 Confirmed?
Henry Cavill confirmed the news on stage at Netflix’s TUDUM event over the weekend. We don’t have an exact month for release yet, but at least summer is *something*, giving us around nine months to wait. Season one of The Witcher was released in December 2019, while season two dropped on Netflix on December 17, 2021. Following that pattern, viewers initially thought The Witcher S3 might arrive around December 2023 – so the summer confirmation is six months earlier. Hooray! This content is posted on Instagram. Who Will Be The Star In Witcher Season 3?
Hearfullly, Thanks to The Witcher’s Twitter account announcing the start of filming on S3 with a picture from the set, we can see Henry Cavill (Man of Steel, Enola Holmes, The Tudors) will return as Geralt of Rivia. Sat next to Cavill, we can presumably see Allan (Gunpowder Milkshake) back in her role as Princess Ciri and Anya Chalotra (Wanderlust) as Yennefer the picture is from the back of their heads. We can also look forward to the likes of Anna Shaffer (Triss), Joey Batey (Jaskier), Eamon Farren (Cahir), MyAnna Buring (Tissaia), Lars Mikkelson (Stregobor), Terence Maynard (Artorius), Tom Canton (Filavandrel) and Royce Pierreson (Istredd) and to also return.
