What Happened To Brian Robinson Jr?
When the Commanders selected Brian Robinson Jr. with the third overall choice in the 2022 NFL Draft, they anticipated him playing a significant role in their backfield rotation alongside Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic.
It was anticipated that Robinson would have to put up a battle to dethrone Gibson from his position as Washington’s offense’s main ball carrier. That was expected to be his first season’s biggest test.
Instead, when the preseason came to an end, Robinson found himself in a battle for both his life and his livelihood.
Robinson was shot twice as a result of a violent crime that occurred in Washington, D.C. Even though his injuries weren’t considered life-threatening, he nonetheless needed surgery and to be hospitalized as a result of them.
Robinson was still able to return to the field for Washington rather quickly in spite of this. Just over a month after being shot twice, he played for the Commanders in Week 5, ensuring that he would have the opportunity to play football throughout his rookie season.
How Did Brian Robinson Jr Get Shot?
Robinson was a victim of what the D.C. police described as an “attempted carjacking or armed robbery” on August 28 at around 6 p.m. ET. During the event, which was allegedly carried out by two juvenile attackers, the 23-year-old was shot twice in the “lower extremities.”
On August 29, the police released images of two people they believe to be the shooters. Police discovered the gun a few blocks away from the scene of the shooting that was used in the incident. However, they have not yet identified the motive behind the shooting.

One of the attackers “was able to take a pistol away” from the rookie running back. That helped to stop the robbery attempt before the two suspects could take anything.
On August 28th, Robinson was taken to the hospital and shortly after the shooting, it was stated that his wounds weren’t life-threatening and that he was in stable condition.
After undergoing minor surgery to treat the bullet wounds, Robinson tweeted an update on his status after the Commanders released a statement regarding it.
Who Are The Brian Robinson Shooters?

The case has not resulted in any arrests. The two suspects’ surveillance images have been made public by the police.
Prior to the incident, Robinson, a third-round pick out of Alabama, was anticipated to start for Washington as the starting running back due to his performance in training camp and the preseason.
