The Football Squad At Jefferson High School reported that Rising Star Elijah Dewitt, 17, was killed. A shooting in Gwinnett County on Wednesday claimed the life of a child from Jefferson High School, and the neighbourhood is in grief for the death of the athlete who was a senior wide receiver. The head football coach at Jefferson High, Travis Noland, referred to the shooting as ‘senseless’ and conveyed confidence that justice would be served. Elijah Dewitt Shooting
Two teen suspects have been accused of slaying Elijah, the Jefferson High School Footballer. Authorities said Kemare Bryan and Chandler Zion Richardson were arrested in South Carolina last week. Kemare is 18 years old and Chandler is 19 years old. The two were extradited to Gwinnett County Tuesday. They will have their 1st appearances in court Wednesday at 8 a.m. They face charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Elijah Dewitt Murder
According to Elijah’s family, he was killed on his father’s birthday. As per 11alive, on October 5, he was discovered dead in the parking lot of Sugarloaf Mills Mall near Dave & Buster’s in Lawrenceville. Police said calls of gunfire came in after 8:15 p.m., a time when Dave & Buster’s was open.
Investigators did not reveal all of the details about what caused Elijah’s death, but they said they believed the teens knew each other. They also added they do not expect any further arrests in this case.
Elijah Dewitt Funeral
Dawn, Elijah’s mother, said while her son was a giant on the football ground, he was also a down-to-earth person with dreams of playing college football and it was cut short by one senseless act. Elijah Dewitt was just 18 years old when he died.
Visitation was scheduled on Tuesday evening, and family and friends will gather for his funeral at the Jefferson High School auditorium on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

An online fundraiser was also set up by Elijah’s family in his honor, and all this will go to his family as they grieve his death. The girlfriend of Elijah, who was murdered outside a Dave & Buster’s described how she screamed as he died in front of her eyes after being shot.
Elijah’s girlfriend said, “I run over to Elijah, and he’s on the ground and I go right over to him, and he mouths to me, the last word he said to me was, help.”
