The Watcher House

Everyone can’t stop thinking about the frightening real-life case after watching The Watcher, the most recent horror thriller to be released on Netflix. Because of the actual events that took place there, the house from The Watcher with the street address 657 Boulevard in Westfield, New Jersey has become a well-known location.
The village, which is only 16 miles from Manhattan, had seemed like Derek and Maria Broaddus’ ideal home before they moved into the six-bedroom house. They started receiving unsettling messages from a sender who identified themselves only as “The Watcher” as soon as they arrived. They occasionally used threats and claimed to be “obsessed” with “watching” the family, their kids, and the home.
The letters caused the Broaddus family to leave. What then happened to the watcher house? Here is all the information we have about the residents of 657 Boulevard and how the house currently looks.
What Happened To The Watcher House?
The family initially had to rent the home because too many prospective buyers were terrified of receiving letters from The Watcher, said the reports. Even the Broaddus family’s attempt to demolish the house and divide it into two homes was unsuccessful due to a lack of planning approval.
The Broaddus family sold the house for $999k in March 2019, five years after paying $1.4 million for it.
On July 1st, 2019, 657 Boulevard was finally sold. The new owners were not identified by the estate agent, although Andrew and Allison Carr are believed to be their names. Apparently, they are a “young family in town.”
Where Is The Watcher Filmed?
The actual Watcher house can be seen in Westfield, New Jersey, at 657 Boulevard. The house in the series has the same address. New York is where the neighborhood and homes for the series were filmed.
Who Is The Watcher?
The Watcher, the newest movie on Netflix, released on Thursday, October 13, 2022. The Watcher, which is based on a true story, follows a family who moves into a new home in the country and begins receiving strange letters from an unknown sender.
Although the criminal could not be identified, there were a number of possibilities, from Theodora to Dean, who served as the focal point. The only factual finding made by police later in the episode through DNA testing was that the Watcher was a Woman.
Where Is The House From The Watcher?
In addition to Westchester County, The Watcher was filmed in many places throughout the state of New York. The project’s filming started in September 2021 and lasted for a while before coming to an end in March 2022.
The house where the Brannocks have recently moved in is undoubtedly the focal point of The Watcher. Unsurprisingly, the filmmakers used the lavish property at 1 Warriston Lane in Rye, New York, roughly 25 miles northeast of Manhattan, while filming instead of the real house from the case.
Only external scenes were filmed at the Rye house; all inside sequences were staged on studio sets.
Westfield Watcher House Address
Be aware that it doesn’t resemble the house from Netflix’s The Watcher if you’re looking for the iconic real-life “Watcher” house. The home’s address is listed on the Ryan Murphy-produced series as 657 Boulevard, but the zip code is changed to make it appear as though it is in Hempstead, New York. The actual “Watcher” home, however, is in Westfield, New Jersey.
