Jo Hampshire organises Whitby Goth Weekend, also known as WGW or simply Whitby, a twice-yearly music festival for the gothic subculture in Whitby, North Yorkshire, England. Whitby hosts the alternative music festival known as Whitby Goth Weekend. The event takes place at the Whitby Leisure Center and Whitby Brunswick Center over the course of two nights with live music and three days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) with alternative trade displays.
Although the name of the event and the logo that goes with it are registered trademarks of Jo Hampshire of Top Mum Promotions, the term “Whitby Goth Weekend” is occasionally used as a general term to cover all of the events that take place during the week in Whitby.

What Happens On Whitby Goth Weekend?
WGW is an alternative festival that honors gothic culture, music, and dress. It is one of the best Goth events in the world. The festival includes three days of alternative shopping and peripheral events in addition to two live music nights. The Bizarre Bazaar Alternative Market, which has over 100 indoor stalls, is a major hub of the festival. Over the years, WGW has hosted a number of well-known acts, including The Damned.
