Who Is Rishi Sunak?
Rishi Sunak is a British politician who served as a Prime Minister of the United Kingdom since October 25, 20222 and Leader of the Conservative Party since October 24 2022. After the resignation of the former U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson, on July 8, 2022, Rishi Sunak participated in the Conservative party Leadership election to replace Boris Johnson. However, he faced criticism when he stood up in the election. They criticised Rishi Sunak for bringing down the former Prime Minister.
Rishi Sunak has a long political career in his life. He was chosen as the Conservative Candidate for Richmond in 2014, which William Hague previously held. In 2015 he was elected as M.P. from Richmond (Yorks) and served as a member of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee from 2015 to 2017.
In 2016 and 2019, Rishi Sunak was re-elected as M.P. and served as the Parliamentary Under-Secretary from 2018 to 2019. The reshuffle of the Cabinet in 2020 promoted Sunak to Chancellor of the Exchequer. Throughout his political career, he funded many resources and supported Boris Johnson in the election campaign in 2019.
