Who Is The Watcher?
The Watchers are a race of fictional characters that appear in American comic books and were published by Marvel Comics. They are commonly seen as all-powerful beings who watch over the fictional multiverses and their stories and are not allowed to interact with other characters. However, they had done so several times when the situation demanded it. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby
The Watchers are among the oldest beings in existence. As time passed, they felt their obligation to help other cultures advance. Unfortunately, this experiment was a mistake as the race they helped ended up causing more harm than good, using nuclear energy to cause war.
Ikor, who proposed the experiment, felt horrible about what he did. But his son Uatu disagreed, saying his father’s intentions were selfless. However, Ikor came up with a new purpose for the Watchers, decreeing that they would no longer be allowed to interfere in the affairs of humans. All they could do was watch. Who Is The Watcher Marvel?
Jeffrey Wright voices the Watcher, and this character is based on Uatu in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) series. What If…?. is a version that serves as the series’ narrator while observing alternate realities where significant events in the MCU occur differently.
Uatu is the Watcher assigned to observe Earth and its Solar System. Uatu, as he appeared in Fantastic Four #25 (October 2020). Art by R.B. Silva. In Watcher, they watched as Jane Foster and Darcy Lewis observed Thor’s arrival. Thor is at a humongous party on Earth with a random assortment of alien species, and Captain Marvel attempts to stop him; however, Foster summoning Frigga helps Thor, and Thor, with his friends, scrabble to clean up his party.
As Jeffrey Wright, who voices The Watcher, puts it, the character is “racking up the enormous cable bill that anyone could imagine. The Watcher said the door was more of a metaphor prior to transporting Black Widow to the universe and also where the Avengers were assassinated, onto a Helicarrier, where Captain America, S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury, and Captain Marvel were fighting against both Loki and the Einherjar. The Watcher told Black Widow that he put her in a universe that had lost their Black Widow.

The Watcher Marvel Actor
The actor also opens up about Chadwick Boseman’s final turn as T’Challa/Black Panther in the MCU’s first animated series. The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first animated series — as Uatu, the all-knowing and all-seeing extraterrestrial being known as the Watcher. Serving as the narrator for the Disney+ series, the Watcher takes viewers on a journey, showing what would happen if certain pivotal moments from the MCU unfolded differently. And while some would instinctively voice the Watcher with a British accent given his vast knowledge and powers, Wright had other ideas.

What Does He Do?
Jeffrey Wright voices the Watcher, and As of now, the Watcher has not interfered in Marvel’s Disney Plus series What If…?. In episode 4, he flat-out told the audience that he wasn’t going to interfere. Of course, he could have prevented the end of the universe, but, as Uatu said, there’s no reason for him to believe that Doctor Strange would have listened.
In previews and trailers for What If…? we’ve seen Captain Carter, Demented and Demonic Doctor Strange, and Party Thor in the same place. It means that Uatu may intervene at some point. The fate of the entire multiverse may depend on it. As we’ve seen, this won’t be the first time he’s done it, and it’s doubtful it’ll be the last.
