Ryan Olson, 37, of Rigby, died in the May 2021 five-vehicle collision that left the majority of passengers hospitalized and injured.
According to the Idaho State Police, the collision happened around 10 a.m. at the intersection of North 2nd East and Moody Road.
Jamie Curtis, 29, of Rexburg, was driving a 2011 Honda Pilot when he rear-ended Olson in his 2015 Toyota Corolla.

Following the initial collision, ISP claims that additional collisions occurred involving Brian McRae, 42, of Rexburg in a Dodge Ram, Jarskeep, 24, of Blackfoot in a 2004 Chevy Malibu, and Jeanne Smith, 59, of Roberts in a 1997 Honda Civic.
Idaho State Police conducted an investigation into the incident. They were helped by the Rexburg Police Department and the Madison Fire Department.

According to the indictment, Curtis was driving a 2011 Honda Pilot at high speeds near the intersection of North 2nd East and Moody Road while Olson was in an uncontrolled hypoglycemic state.
Curtis then allegedly hit the back of Ryan Olson’s car. According to police reports, this was done illegally but without malice.
