Ashley Judd reflected on her “catastrophic” accident that occurred in the Congo last year in 2022. The actor got shattered severely on her leg in four places and also suffered from nerve damage severely after tripping over a fallen tree in the forest during a trip to the Congolese rainforest in February 2021, where she researched the endangered bonobo apes.
Speaking to Roberts on her podcast Body & Soul, Judd explained, “I don’t know how the mind, the body, and the soul come together to manage to endure the unendurable. That was the most horrible pain, “I bit a stick, I screamed, I convulsed,” she said. “I never did pass out — I wished that I could.”

Ashley Judd was injured when she was a researcher early in a rainforest looking for bonobos. Fall shattered her tibia when she tripped over a log in the forestibia. As a result, Ashley’s leg was broken in four places. Then, Later she was evacuated by motorbike with a driver and another man holding her shattered tibia together. That would be the worst pain and most exhausting trip, lasting six hours in the forest. Judd described the”catastrophic accident” and added that she “nearly lost my leg” – shattered in four places.
