Eunice Kathleen Waymon was known as Nina Simone, an American Singer, Pianist and Songwriter. She was also a civil rights activist. Her music style included Classical, folk, jazz, pop and gospel. She was born to a poor family in Tyron, North Carolina. She initially wanted to become a concert pianist. Later with the support of a few people from her hometown, she managed to get into Juilliard School Of Music in New York City.
