Liam Highfield is a popular professional snooker player. Since turning professional in 2010, he has won many domestic and international contests.

The lefthanded player had finished second in the 2009/2010 PIOS rankings. In 2022, the Englishman has achieved a ranking of 43.

Illness Revealed

Liam Highfield suffers from an inflammatory bowel disease called Crohn’s. The condition can cause severe abdominal pain, diarrhea, exhaustion, weight loss, and malnutrition.

At the age of 24 years, the snooker star had opened up about his battle with the illness.

He had a huge impact on his capacity to practice and compete in tournaments after that. In the 2017/18 season, he was admitted to the hospital for more than five weeks. In fact, he was advised to undergo surgery to remove his bowel.

However, Liam had never stopped chasing his dreams. Although, he had faced many difficulties in his mental level following his treatment.

In an interview covered in December 2019, he stated: “I had my biggest flare up at the beginning of the 2017/18 season and it put me into hospital for five weeks,”

“I was on a drug which was expected to work within 48 hours but it didn’t seem to be taking effect. The surgeon came to see me and said that if it didn’t work soon that I would need to have part of my bowel removed.

“Thankfully things improved over the next day or two. I got lucky.”

Liam Highfield was born on the 1st of December 1990 in England. As of April 2022, his age is 31 years.
