The Coalition Avenir Québec MNA has lost a son for the second time in less than a year. Noah, her 16-year-old son, died in a car accident last December. The 19-year-old man killed by a truck in the Sud-Ouest borough on Tuesday was Soulanges MNA Marilyne Picard’s stepson.
What Happened In The London Eliot Mercier Accident?
Her stepson, Eliot Mercier, was hit by a pickup truck early Tuesday morning. According to police, he was lying on the road when the truck turned from Ste-Émilie St. to St-Augustin St. and ran over him. He was immediately taken to a hospital as he was in critical condition and died there. A CAQ spokesperson confirmed to the Montreal Gazette that Picard’s stepson was killed in an accident this week but provided no further details.
When Did The Noah Lewis Mercier Incident Happen?
Her stepson’s death came just a few months after a public memorial for her son Noah was held in St-Lazare in August. Noah was a passenger in a severely damaged car on Sources Blvd. in Pointe-Claire under an elevated section of Highway 20 on December 18, 2021, around 4 a.m. He was severely injured in the single-car accident and died in a hospital a few days later, one day before his 17th birthday. At the time, police reported that the car’s 18-year-old driver was in critical condition.
