In the USFS press release, Chen stated, “I am sorry to have to withdraw from Worlds.” I’ve been getting ready for this tournament ever since I got back from Beijing.
He stated in the same press release that I have a recurring injury and would like to avoid putting myself in danger by training and competing the following week. Sadly, Nathan Chen’s injury will prevent him from competing in the 2022 World Championships.

Using his sister’s skates, Nathan Chen started figure skating at the age of three. He took part in his first skating competition in 2003. At the 2012 United States Championships in San Jose, California, Chan won the junior men’s division.
