Eddie Pendergrass was a $12 million net-worth American R&B, soul singer, and songwriter. Theodore DeReese Pendergrass was born in March 1950 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and died in January 2010. Teddy Pendergrass managed to avoid death at least once. That was in 1982, when his Rolls Royce crashed into a barrier on his way home from a basketball game, leaving him partially paralysed in a wheelchair. According to the Associated Press, he died of colon cancer on Wednesday night. Pendergrass passed away in a hospital outside of Philadelphia, where he was born 59 years ago. When Pendergrass’ solo records, such as Teddy and TP, were selling like hotcakes in the late 1970s, I worked in a record store.
