According to reports, a bus carrying students from Tynwald School was involved in an automobile collision on Friday night in Juliasdale, Nyanga. The kids were going on a school excursion. One student passed away after being admitted to the hospital, while five students are said to have passed away immediately. Since Friday night, images of a bus with the Tynwald School logo on it that has overturned have been making the rounds on social media. Late on Friday night, Nyanga South MP Supa Mandiwanzira verified the disaster.

In his Twitter post, he said, “ Many thanks to the Nyanga District Hospital staff led by DMO Dr John Muungani attending to. Victims of a terrible school bus accident in Juliusdale, Nyanga, this evening. Five lost their lives on the spot, and one just passed on at the hospital.”

Supa Collins Mandiwanzira was born on 18 September 1972 in Sakubva, Rhodesia, Zimbabwe. Mandiwanzira, a politician and journalist from Zimbabwe, held the positions of Minister of Information and Communications Technology in the Zimbabwean Cabinet from 2014 to 2017 and Minister of Information and Communications Technology and Cybersecurity from November 2017 to September 2018.
