Linda is married to the much older Mike Baldwin, probably due to his wealth. In September 2000, Mike and Linda both married at De Lisle House. Later that day, Mike finds out about Mark and Linda’s affair, eventually forgiving Linda. However, after an armed siege at Freshco in October, where Mike was held hostage, she was horrified to discover that one of the shooters was her brother, Dean.

Linda’s marriage to Mike started to sour. When Alma was diagnosed with cervical cancer, Mike thought to begin to stay with Amla’s side in her final days, and Mike was with her when Amla died. Linda was angry that Mike, spending so much time with his ex-wife, Amla, had an affair with one of his clients. Later, Mike realized that Alma was his true love and then fell out of love with Linda. Now Mike was aware she had only married him for his wealthy money. When Mike started up with Mark in the wake of his ex-wife’s death, Linda was furious to be asked for a divorce and made a failed attempt to restart her affair with Mark.

Mike catches Linda and orders her not to be in his life and to leave his life forever, which Linda insists, quickly driving off in his car. Sudden Linda’s disappearance from Weatherfield did not go unnoticed. When the car was found in the River Naven, Marsham, it was suspected by Linda’s family that Mike had murdered her. However, Linda’s father, Ray Sykes, eventually contacted his ex-wife Eve Elliott and told her that Linda was alive and now living with her wealthy fiancé in Dublin.

How Did Linda Baldwin Leave Coronation Street

Jacqueline Chadwick joined the series as Linda in 1998 and had previously appeared in the other ITV drama Emmerdale from 1994 to 1996. Jacqueline was born in Stirling in Scotland and moved to Birmingham with her family when she was five. As of now, Jacqueline Pirie played Linda in Coronation Street and Tina in Emmerdale.

In March 2001, it was announced that Chadwick was pregnant with a second child. She left the show in 2001 due to complications in her pregnancy, and she took six weeks off sick. Her final appearance as that character was on 3rd September 2001 and didn’t film any exit scenes, so Linda made an appearance from a distance and was played by a double on 5th September 2001. It seems she was seen being forced into a car by Mike, and Chadwick later confirmed that she is not returning to the series. At last, Coronation Street marked her final television appearance as later she quit acting and started a career as an acting teacher and then a crime writer.
