Lil Baby is a well-known rapper and songwriter from the United States. His real name is Dominique Armani Jones. After his mixtape Perfect Timing came out in 2017, he became well-known.

Dominique and Ayesha Howard, his ex-girlfriend, were together for two years. In 2015, they had their first child, Jason, and also started a good job together.

Karam Gill’s documentary Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby is about the American rapper Dominique Armani Jones, also known as “Lil Baby.” The film is about Baby’s background and rise to fame. It will be shown for the first time on Amazon Prime Video on August 26.
Dominique, Blase Biello, Daniel Malikyar, Andrew Primavera, Pierre “P” Thomas, and Kevin “Coach K” Lee made the 93-minute documentary film together.
The film was first shown at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 11, 2022, and the official trailer for the documentary came out on July 13.
Drake, a Canadian rapper, was in the movie. He said, “Lil Baby has already established himself as a very important part of this generation.”
Early years
Dominique Jones was born in the Oakland City neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States. His father left the family when he was two years old, leaving his mother to take care of him and his two sisters. Jones quit Booker T. Washington High School when he was in the ninth grade and decided to sell drugs.
Jones was charged with possession with the intent to sell in early 2012, and he was charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana in 2013. In 2014, he was arrested for the third time in as many years for having marijuana with the intent to sell. He spent two years in jail for this crime.
Career
2015–2018: New jobs and more work than ever
At age 17, Lil Baby was a regular drug dealer in the Atlanta studio of Quality Control Records. The label’s founder, Kevin “Coach K” Lee, thought Baby had “the swag, the lingo, and respect around the city” to become a rapper, so he encouraged Baby to do so. Young Thug and Gunna, who are also rappers, helped Baby develop his style. Lil Baby’s first mixtape, Perfect Timing, came out in April 2017. Young Thug and Lil Yachty were both on it. Three months later, he released another mixtape called Harder Than Hard. In October, he released 2 The Hard Way, a mixtape he made with his friend and fellow Atlanta rapper Marlo. Too Hard, his fourth mixtape, came out in December. It was led by his hit single “Freestyle” and its music video. The RIAA gave the record a gold rating in February 2020.
In May 2018, Baby released his first studio album, Harder Than Ever, as his career was picking up speed. It was number three on the US Billboard 200 when it came out. The singles “Southside” and “Yes Indeed” (with Drake) promoted the album. “Yes Indeed” reached number six on the Billboard Hot 100. The song “Life Goes On,” by Lil Uzi Vert and Gunna, peaked at number 74 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In 2017, Lil Baby started his own record label called 4 Pockets Full (abbreviated 4PF). The label has signed rap artists 42 Dugg and Rylo Rodriguez.
Drip Harder and Street Gossip for 2018–2019
In 2018, Lil Baby
After putting out Harder Than Ever, Lil Baby and Gunna put out the mixtape Drip Harder on October 5, 2018. “Drip Too Hard,” the album’s first single, was later certified 9 Platinum by the RIAA[18] and 4x Platinum by Music Canada. The song reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, and at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards, it was nominated for Best Rap/Sung Performance. The mixtape came out on Quality Control, YSL Records, and Motown/Capitol labels.
In September 2018, Baby was on the TV show FishCenter Live on Adult Swim. Street Gossip, his mixtape, came out in November of 2018. In December 2018, Baby and Yung Gravy worked together on the single “Alley Oop” by Yung Gravy.
He was in the 2019 movie How High 2, which is a follow-up to the stoner movie How High from 2001. It premiered on MTV on April 20, 2019. “Out the Mud,” a song by Baby and Future, came out on June 21, 2019. Lil Baby and DaBaby were both on the song “Baby,” which came out on Quality Control’s second studio album, Control the Streets, Volume 2, on July 17, 2019. The highest the song got on the Billboard Hot 100 was number 21.
On November 8, 2019, Baby’s second studio album, My Turn, got its first single, “Woah.”

Baby was on YouTuber KSI’s song “Down Like That” with Rick Ross and British producer S-X, and he performed it for KSL’s 2018 boxing match against Logan Paul. 2020 to the present: My Turn and The Voice of the Heroes
Lil Baby’s second album single, “Sum 2 Prove,” came out on January 10, 2020. It reached number 16 on the Hot 100. The album, My Turn, came out on February 28, 2020, and its first week on the US Billboard 200 chart was at number one. Gunna, 42 Dugg, Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Wayne, Moneybagg Yo, Young Thug, and Rylo Rodriguez all show up as guests. With 12 songs from My Turn on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, he now has 47 songs on the chart, which is the same number as Prince and Paul McCartney. After the deluxe version of the album came out on May 1, My Turn was back at the top of the Billboard 200. Lil Baby’s political song “The Bigger Picture” came out on June 12, 2020, during the George Floyd protests. The song also debuted at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Lil Baby’s highest-charting song as a lead artist. His song “We Paid,” which featured 42 Dugg and was on the My Turn deluxe album, also reached number 10 on the Hot 100. Pop Smoke’s song “For the Night,” from his posthumous debut album Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon, had Lil Baby on it in July 2020. The song got to number 6 on the Hot 100 chart. The RIAA gave the double platinum award to My Turn in September 2020, making it the first album of the year to get that honor. At the 63rd Grammy Awards, “The Bigger Picture” was up for two awards: Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.
Lil Baby sang “The Bigger Picture” at the Grammy Awards on March 14, 2021, and most people liked it. The next day, “Wants and Needs,” another song made with Drake, hit number two on the Hot 100. Jones’s song “The Bigger Picture” passed a previous peak and made its debut, making it his highest-charting song ever.
The Voice of the Heroes, an album made by Lil Baby and Lil Durk together, came out on June 4, 2021. The album went straight to the top of the Billboard 200 chart.
Drake’s sixth studio album, Certified Lover Boy, came out in September 2021. The song “Girls Want Girls” from that album had Lil Baby on it. The song also debuted and peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, tying “Wants and Needs” as Baby’s highest-charting song overall.
“Do We Have a Problem?” came out on February 4, 2022. It was a collaboration with Nicki Minaj and had a music video with the two of them in it.
